Avian Health Network, Inc. (AHN) is a 501(C)3, non-profit charitable corporation, headquartered and incorporated in the Commonwealth of Virginia. AHN is an organization of volunteers with no paid personnel. How we came to be
AHN was founded in 2002 by a handful of folks who became concerned by stories about the devastation of flocks and loss of beloved companion birds, all due to PDD. Our mission is twofold: to educate and to raise funds to help advance ongoing research efforts.
The StopPDD Campaign - Please Help Avian Health Network StopPDD AHN acknowledges the significant contributions of previous fundraising campaigns, and is honored to administer the StopPDD Campaign.
AHN organized an initial fundraising campaign to subsidize the research of Dr. Branson W. Ritchie
and the Emerging Diseases Research Group (EDRG) at the University of Georgia's College of Veterinary Medicine. While various commercial industries have
actively funded domestic and food animal research, research dollars have not been forthcoming for exotic and companion birds. EDRG has demonstrated significant progress in the diagnosis and prevention of other viral diseases, such as
